It was a perfect October day for a backyard wedding… Wait. Let me back up for a second. It was a perfect October day for an indoor wedding. 😉 Meghan and Joel had planned a beautiful backyard wedding at his sister’s home. The only thing that ended up not being perfect was the unpredictable chilly weather that sometimes happens in October around Kansas City. The great thing about Meghan and Joel though? It didn’t faze them one tiny bit. The ceremony was moved inside, and then afterwards they embraced the drizzle for husband and wife portraits; holding each other close to stay warm.
Meghan, Joel, and Sarah (Joel’s sister who helped plan the wedding) decided on a fall theme for their wedding. They pulled in orange hues and fall decorations to compliment the hunter green bridesmaids dresses and the beautiful changing colors of the trees. I think my favorite detail of the day though had to be “The Story of Us” wedding invitations that were also custom designed. Take a peek below to see some of the cute details about how they met and how Joel proposed to Meghan.
This Monday afternoon “backyard” wedding was the perfect intimate ceremony for these two. Here’s a little sneak peek into Meghan and Joel’s wedding day!
