They stood outside, with the snow falling around them… an epic mountain backdrop behind them. It was the perfect kind of snow. The kind that’s light and fluffy with no wind or sound. The kind that makes for a perfect winter Colorado elopement. In a few seconds, Nina would step forward and call his name. He would see her adorned with red roses and a stunning bridal gown for the first time.
As Colin turned around, he gave the most joyful shout and laugh when he saw how stunning his bride was. Nina’s eyes filled with tears, and as they held hands, they read their vows to one another in a private first look before departing to a frozen lake, to say “I do”.
When Nina and Colin first approached me about a winter elopement in Colorado, we were all in. Being 32 weeks pregnant, I knew this would be my last chance to travel for a wedding and I certainly couldn’t resist a snow covered wedding ceremony in Silverthorne, Colorado.
If you know these two, you know they are always ready for a good adventure. Nina is from Czech Republic and when Colin proposed on Christmas Eve while they were visiting her family in Europe, it was no surprise that they were so excited that they quickly planned their wedding adventure – What a better way to surprise everyone than to elope on 2/22/22 and then have an even bigger celebration in Czech Republic with her family a year later?
So that was it! They tied the knot with a few of their closest friends and family in an American wedding with a few Czech traditions, such as feeding each other blindfolded while your guests coach you through the process. (Oh, we laughed so hard!) I will also never forget my favorite guest – the ring bearer – Hank, the sweetest, most loving, Jack Russell I’ve ever met. I think every wedding should include a guest like Hank.
Colin and Nina, we are grateful to call you friends. Congratulations to you and we wish you a lifetime full of more adventures together!

Great couple! So happy you enjoyed the blog post. 🙂
These photos are spectacular! And they could be models. But they’re my son and daughter-in-law and so, how blessed are we? It was the best wedding in a beautiful setting with some of the most wonderful friends who truly are like family. Staci, wow! It was all just romantic and fun and we will cherish the memories forever!
