Mackenzie and Hunter chose Burr Oak Woods for their winter engagement session. Despite the fact this is a popular local spot for hiking and photography, this was my first time visiting Burr Oak Woods Nature Center. I was quite impressed with this little nature preserve tucked right in the heart of Blue Springs, Missouri. As we marched into the woods where we were planning to capture their session, the smell of pine trees flooded my senses and reminded me of hiking through the mountains. How special is it that we are so lucky to have a gem of a place located in Missouri? AND… to have a couple who loves the adventure of capturing their engagement photos in the middle of a winter wonderland?
On top of that, a red velour evening gown, a suit, and a handsome couple in the middle of a forest? I’ll take it every day of the week. What makes Mackenzie and Hunter so great is not just how adorable they are, but how perfect they are for each other. When we met for the first time, it was no surprise to learn that they truly are best friends. They spend every moment together and even work together! We truly believe marriage is about the friendship you build with one another. It’s apparent these two have the perfect foundation for success.
Mackenzie and Hunter, we are so excited for you both on your engagement and can’t wait for your Powell Gardens wedding! I had so much fun adventuring through these woods with you both and feel so lucky to be your wedding photographer. Here’s a little sneak peek of your engagement session!
