Powell Gardens Spring Wedding | Meredith & Rhea

It was a perfect spring day for a wedding at Powell Gardens. All around the flowers were beginning to bloom. Green vines and purple flowers were crawling up the arbor and covering the ceremony location and there was a soft breeze. It was intimate. It was romantic. It was dreamy.

Meredith & Rhea were married in a small outdoor ceremony at the Perennial Garden Arbor in front of the lake. They celebrated with a candlelit reception at the Missouri Barn.

“I’ve never seen you as beautiful as you are today…”

My favorite moment of the day was by far during the first look. Rhea turned around to see Meredith and they fell into each others arms with tears and smiles. For the rest of the day they couldn’t stop staring at each other and holding hands. Meredith was glowing. As one of her bridesmaids said, “Meredith, you’re always so beautiful but I’ve never seen you as beautiful as you are today”. This was the best way to describe the happiness that exuded from these two.

If you’ve been following along for awhile, you may have seen their engagement session on the blog and learned that Rhea actually proposed to Meredith in Italy! And even better than Italy… At Lake Como… At a palatial garden. And you’ve probably guessed by now that this is one of the reasons they fell in love with Powell Gardens as their wedding day destination. The purple flowers took them back to the moment when Rhea asked Meredith to spend forever with him. Their wedding was “Romantic Italy meets Missouri”
